UPEI has a very exciting two-year B.Ed. Program and we look forward to your application. This web site is designed to provide answers to common questions about the process and will assist applicants as they make careful decisions about their applications. Every year the Faculty of Education receives many applications for the B.Ed program. Out of all the applications that we receive, we usually accept 75-80 students.
Applications, which meet the minimum requirements, or have the potential to meet them, are reviewed by the Faculty of Education Admissions Committee, to assess strengths and promise for teaching at the level of choice.
If you are thinking about teaching grades 1–12, you should research the profession! It is best to seek advice about teaching from a variety of sources. School principals and teachers can be helpful in terms of explaining the realities of the profession.
Admission to an education program is very competitive, but it is not a mysterious process. Clear criteria and careful evaluation guide the decisions. Applicants need to inform and prepare themselves as much as possible.
Please read the important information below and contact the Education Officer for Recruitment, Admissions, and Alumni, Jill Ross, if you have any additional questions: jbross@upei.ca
All of the application Forms can be downloaded from the Registrar's Website
The application package must be postmarked by January 15. If seats are still available after the applicants meeting the deadline have been considered, the BEd Admissions Committee may review late applications.
