The half-way point came for MEd Nunavut students as the fifth course was closed on November 6, 2011. MEd students further developed critical thinking skills, as they worked through Ed 619N- Critical Pedagogy, co-taught by Dr. Lynn Aylward and Monica Ittusardjuat. The week started with a special course opening. During the course opening, students received words of encouragement from Nunavut government officials, including Kathy Okpik, the Deputy Minister of Education; Meeka Kakudluk, a graduate of the 2006-2009 cohort; and the UPEI Interim Dean of Education Miles Turnbull.  Following the opening of the course, the students enjoyed a snack of country foods including Arctic char and muqtuq, beluga whale skin.
