Dr. Carla DiGiorgio received a 2012 UPEI Merit Award for Scholarly Achievement. These awards are intended to honour faculty members in scholarly research and/or artistic creation, and in doing so, inspire others to aspire to such achievement. Dr. Giorgio received her award at the Faculty Recognition Night held on May 7.

The first private donor scholarships to UPEI MEd students were awarded recently at the second annual Faculty of Education Summer Social. The J. Wesley Parkinson Memorial Scholarships, generously donated by Jill Parkinson and Cynthia Blanchard, were awarded to Donna MacCormac and Randy Campbell.

Offered by the University of Prince Edward Island in partnership with the Department of Education of the Government of Nunavut, St. Francis Xavier University, and Nunavut Arctic College, the Nunavut Master of Education in Leadership and Learning is the first graduate program to be offered in Nunavut.
