Programs

An exicting two-year Bachelor of Education program with a possibility to specialize in either International or Indigenous Education

Is designed to support experienced educators with  life long learning opportunities through educational scholarship, research, and practice.

 Candidates conduct research and examine theories and perspectives while working with active researchers and scholars in UPEI's first Doctoral program outside of the AVC.  

We offer certificates in School Librarianship, Inclusive Education, & Adult Education. A certificate in Educational Leadership is offered as part of Nunavut MEd program.

French Immersion

The B.Ed (français langue seconde) is a two-year post-degree program consisting of 20 three-hour credit courses in education. This unique program provides a variety of courses and extended field experiences through which students can develop the knowledge and skills needed to teach in the modern classroom.

International Education

 

The Specialization in International Education (SIE) is an optional, award-winning program for second-year Bachelor of Education students at the University of Prince Edward Island. The program is designed to develop students’ sensitivity to cultural diversity and to increase their understanding of global issues, so that their teaching is infused with a global perspective and they are better prepared to teach in other countries or in diverse cultural settings.

Indigenous Education

Some students choose to specialize in Indigenous education, study about the issues facing the indigenous populations in the world and complete a practice teaching in an aboriginal setting in Canada or abroad.
